Associate Software Engineer

insightsoftware is seeking an Associate Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for new products and enhancements. Key responsibilities include designing and coding automated tests (functional, integration, regression), executing manual tests, and reporting metrics and defects. The role involves designing and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS). Daily tasks include coding, participating in code reviews, testing, bug bashes, and Agile rituals, as well as assisting team leads in application building, research activities, and Proofs of Concept (POCs). Candidates should demonstrate strong ownership and a commitment to continuous learning. Required skills include proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, C#, C++, Java, or JavaScript. Experience with unit testing tools like NUnit, CPPUnit, XUnit, or JUnit is necessary, along with exposure to databases and data modeling. Advantageous skills include a basic understanding of AWS cloud computing, DevOps principles (CI/CD, Source Control, Build Automation), API automation testing, various test methodologies, Agile methodology, OOAD, and Design Patterns. Solid programming skills are essential for this role, with an emphasis on both product development and quality improvement. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Applicants must have studied data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, and databases. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required. The role demands an AI-first mindset, involving the daily use of AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) and other AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, test writing, research, documentation, and code reviews. Candidates are expected to validate, test, and improve all AI-generated output, treating AI as a thinking partner.
