CSG is seeking a Systems Administrator - Grad to join our database administration team. This entry-level role is designed for individuals starting their career in database administration, focusing on supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments under the guidance of senior DBAs. Responsibilities include assisting with basic database operations, monitoring, backups, and incident support across non-production and production environments. The ideal candidate possesses basic SQL knowledge, a strong eagerness to learn, and an interest in database administration. Basic knowledge of MySQL is considered an advantage. Key Responsibilities: - Support the SQL Server Database Administration team in daily operational activities. - Monitor SQL Server instances for availability and health checks. - Perform basic health checks and respond to alerts related to SQL Server. - Conduct basic troubleshooting for common SQL Server issues. - Assist in handling incidents and service requests via ticketing tools. - Perform initial issue analysis and escalate complex issues to senior DBAs. - Ensure incidents and service requests are handled within defined SLA timelines. - Assist with SQL Server backup and restore activities under guidance. - Support routine maintenance tasks. - Assist senior DBAs during SQL Server patching and upgrade activities. - Support user access requests. - Maintain basic documentation and update runbooks for DBA operational tasks. - Adhere to standard operating procedures, security policies, and compliance guidelines. - Be willing to work in rotational shifts and on-call support models (24x7). Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 0-1 year of experience in IT support, database support, or related roles. Freshers with basic SQL knowledge and relevant training/certifications are encouraged to apply. - Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server/MySQL. - Basic SQL skills (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, simple joins, and filters). - Basic awareness of databases, tables, backups, restores, database availability, and performance. - Basic understanding of Windows Server concepts and RDBMS concepts (tables, indexes, constraints, joins). - Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). - Strong willingness to learn and grow in database administration. - Basic problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Good communication skills. - Team player with a positive attitude. Nice to Have: - Basic understanding of MySQL. - Any SQL Server or database-related certification. - Exposure to ITIL or production support concepts.
